When do I have to be publishing to participate in NewsMatch?

If you are approved as an INN member, and currently not publishing original reporting, you will become a provisional member until that changes.

The deadline to be publishing (which would make you an active member) in time to be eligible for NewsMatch 2026 is September 30, 2026. Please note that you can still complete the application to participate in NewsMatch, even if you're still a provisional INN member.
