AI Prompt Template: Drafting Email Copy

This AI prompt is designed to be used with AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to help your team generate email appeals and other messaging for your NewsMatch campaign (or other fundraising campaigns!). It can be used with your campaign’s theme or coverage areas and adapted to fit your organization.

To use this prompt:

  1. Customize the brackets throughout the template. Replace each [placeholder] with specific, concrete details 
  2. Remove anything that does not apply to your newsroom
  3. Once you’ve completed the prompt, you can upload to an AI tool of your choice for the first draft, and then begin editing from there. 

You can use this prompt for several different email appeals by highlighting reporting areas, impact examples, donor quotes, themes, and more in each version.
