What counts as proof of donation?

Proof of donation is required by The Miami Foundation in order to verify match fund disbursements.

To provide proof of donations for online contributions, just export an Excel or CSV file from your online donation processor, like RevEngine, PayPal, Stripe, or your CRM (ex. Salesforce, Memberful, Donor Perfect). That’s all. 

For offline gifts, submit copies of checks and with sensitive information redacted. Checks must be dated during the campaign period (November 1 - December 31). Checks dated in October and received in November are not eligible to be matched; checks dated December and received in January are eligible.

Cash gifts cannot be applied towards the match, as there's no way to verify the source of the contribution.

While the Index will ask for your aggregate campaign totals, you only need to complete the match cover sheet and documentation up to the maximum match amount requested. For example, if you're eligible for the main match ($15,000) and you raise $30,000 in eligible donations, you only need to list $15,000 and provide $15,000 worth of documentation.
