Who is behind NewsMatch?
NewsMatch is a collaborative effort between newsrooms, funders, and journalism service organizations.
The program is managed by Institute for Nonprofit News (INN), a nationwide network of more than 400 independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan news organizations. In addition to coordinating the program, INN also provides training resources and support to participating organizations.
NewsMatch is supported through the Fund for Nonprofit News, an open collaborative fund at The Miami Foundation. The Foundation oversees the fiscal administration of NewsMatch funds and oversees the application and reporting process for NewsMatch.
News Revenue Hub serves as a key learning partner that creates a series of time-saving resources and learning resources to help newsrooms run a successful year-end campaign.
In 2024, NewsMatch supporters included Barr Foundation, DAFGiving 360, Democracy Fund, Heising-Simons Foundation, Henry-Luce Foundation, Independence Public Media Foundation, Inasmuch Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Jonathan Logan Family Foundation, Joyce Foundation, Kaphan Foundation, Loud Hound, Maida Lynn, McKnight Foundation, Solidarity Giving, Tow Foundation, Walton Family Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Wyncote Foundation as well as over 1,000 local match funders.
